All Together Worship 2010 - Sat August 21st, 2010 at the Keswick Landing Mall in Keswick, NB

After hearing that “Worship in the Square” would not be taking place this year, a new event has been established, All Together Worship 2010. Spearheaded by the Burtts Corner Church of Christ, this free event is designed for all denominations and all walks of life. The event will take place on Saturday, August 21, 2010 in a neutral location at the Keswick Landing Mall allowing us to invite the general public to participate without financial obligation.

The name of the event was derived from the worship chorus, “Here I Am To Worship”. As we meditated on this familiar song we were drawn to the part of the chorus that says “You’re altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me”. Though the writer of the chorus was obviously pouring their heart out to God, we were drawn to reflect on God’s plan for us. He wants all of us together with Him for eternity. There is no better way to celebrate our “…lovely, …worthy, …wonderful” Heavenly Father, then by coming together to worship Him!

The goal of this event is to unite area churches and reach out in Christian love to Fredericton and the surrounding region. It is our prayer that through this event, lives will be changed and families strengthened through the saving power of Jesus Christ.

We are extremely excited to announce that 2010 Dove Award Winning Artists, the Sidewalk Prophets (www.sidewalkprophets.com), have been chosen to lead this free worship concert! Their hit song “These Are The Words I Would Say” was featured in the major motion picture “Fireproof”. Two time Super Bowl Champion Lee Rouson will also be on hand to share his inspiring testimony with us. Other performers include Stephanie Israelson, Richard Paul, and Life Support. (Fredericton, NB) – Brooklyn, by way of Minneapolis, indie rock band The Hold Steady will perform in support of their recently released fifth album Heaven is Whenever (Vagrant Records) at The Market in Fredericton on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 9 p.m.

Following up to 2008’s critically acclaimed Stay Positive, which gave the band its highest Billboard chart position to date, Heaven is Whenever was recorded over several small sessions spread out over a long period of time at Dreamland Recording Studios in Upstate, NY and Wild Arctic Studios in Queens, NY with returning producer Dean Baltulonis. The 10 new songs had the benefit of being road tested during the band’s relentless tour schedule since Stay Positive’s release.

NME said, “…rock’s young men can’t hold a candle to The Hold Steady, a band with all the dependability of a ’69 Chevy whose oil Bruce Springsteen just changed.”

Paste Magazine said, “again pulling off with heroic sincerity the idea that heaven is lying on the floor listening to records—even if you’re well past 16.”

The Hold Steady is Craig Finn (vocals/guitar), Tad Kubler (guitar), Galen Polivka (bassist), Bobby Drake (drums). Since forming in 2000, the band has released five albums, including Almost Killed Me (2004), Separation Sunday (2005), Boys and Girls in America (2006), Stay Positive (2008) and most recently Heaven is Whenever (2010).

Tickets are $22.50 in advance and $27.50 day of show (including tax) PLUS service charge and go on sale THIS Friday, July 30 at 10 a.m.
