Details: After taking Europe by storm, Franklin and the Adventures of the Noble Knights is coming home to sweep the nation in its inaugural Canadian tour!
This brand new live musical theatre production by Koba Entertainment will lead audiences through the most heroic expedition that Franklin and his friends, Bear, Snail, Beaver, Fox, and Rabbit have ever embarked on.
In this live musical quest, Franklin will face his greatest challenge when he tries to reclaim his sister Harriet’s stolen golden necklace. Franklin and his friends must reveal their noble skills to prove that they are worthy of the ultimate title: Knighthood. On this courageous crusade, the gang must triumph against a series of unexpected obstacles in order to win the treasured Silver Shield, including a fire-breathing dragon, two riddle-loving gargoyles, and a wild-winged beast!
Franklin’s compelling story about acceptance, compassion and friendship set before original songs and an extraordinary scenic background will have the whole family on their feet and cheering for the gang to prevail against all odds. Seasons of Immigration is a one-act play that begins with the decision to leave the homeland and move to the western world, the land of freedom and opportunity. Each character discovers that immigration to Canada involves an immediate confrontation with not only the cold and vastness of the land, but the pursuit to prove one’s self in this fast-paced lifestyle. They face turmoil as they go through the steps of leaving their country, flying to Canada, the complexities of landing and entering customs, and moving into a new community and culture. Seasons of Immigration hits a familiar note for many families that have been welcomed into our community over the years, and will open the eyes of those who have been here all along.

Circus Incognitus: Jamie Adkins

Details: Since his start as a street performer in San Diego at the age of 13, Jamie Adkins has been delighting audiences of all ages as an eclectic clown, juggler, balancing artist and poet. As Jamie took his gift from the street to the theatre, his numerous talents and years of experience soon made him an integral member of Montreal’s Cirque Éloize family of artists, making an invaluable contribution to the show Excentricus. In over 500 performances of this production, Jamie distinguished himself with his unique style that faithfully and humorously conveyed the essence of the ordinary man. Jamie now presents his newest solo creation: Circus Incognitus. More than ever before, Jamie shows his audiences, in his own unique way, the full range of his talents. He has taken his performance far beyond the bounds of a single role and created an artistic event that springs from his own inner world.

Romeo and Juliet Fantasy and Other Works

Details: After his world premiere ballet King Lear, Igor Dobrovolskiy returns to William Shakespeare to create a one–act ballet based the Bard’s timeless romance. No other play by Shakespeare has been such a rich source of inspiration for composers and choreographers. Set on Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet, Fantasy Overture it creates a dream-world for the young lovers who have just barely left behind their childhood and face the consequences of feeling too deeply in a world where there is no clemency for breaking rules. The program will also feature selections from some of Dobrovolskiy’s most popular works.

Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway

Neil Berg presents brilliantly revived arrangements of Broadway classics as well as thrilling numbers from Broadway’s newest hit shows. The Playhouse will be one of more than 100 stops on Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway tour and will be sure to please both newcomers and veterans to the magical world of Broadway music.
